In July 2024, Dell STRONGLY recommended AWCC be upgraded from 5.8.2.0 to 6.3.7 on a top-end Alienware x15 R1 laptop. After the upgrade when AWCC was opened a pop-up warning “Connected device is not supported by AWCC 6” and my Maxwell Audeze headset mic would not work because the USB dongle was not compatible. After a week of troubleshooting, Dell said my only option was to revert AWCC back to 5.8.2.0. In September 2024, AWCC now states “An incompatible device is detected” but at least the headset and mic are working. I contacted Audeze and they said this is a software issue with Dell because their hardware by design is 100% compatible with Alienware computers.
