The Meze Audio Liric is unique in so many ways. This is a closed-back planar magnetic headphone with impeccable build quality and comfort. In this review I discuss what makes it so special, and how it compares to a couple other closed back headphones in this price range.
Using a special Renaro MZ4 driver, the Liric has a distinct way of producing sound. The upper end of the driver is a switchback trace design, which helps emphasize low frequencies. The bottom of the driver uses a coil trace design which excels at higher frequency production. The end result is a strong bottom end to the bass, and an exceptionally airy treble presentation.
